Away day delight for The Lie 

Arthurlie 2-1 Benburb 

Arthurlie were back in action on Saturday as we faced Benburb at New Tinto Park in our first away trip of the 26/27 league season.

The Lie were looking to bounce back from a narrow defeat to Darvel in midweek and make it six points from a possible nine available.

However, our bid for our second win of the season would suffer an early setback as the home side would take an early lead.

Despite the setback The Lie would look to try and find an equaliser but despite all the effort we went in at the break 1-0 down.

Going into the second forty-five we started on the front foot as we searched for the equaliser. The equaliser would come shortly into the second period as captain Michael MacNeil was able to head the ball home from a corner.

After grabbing the equaliser, the away side continued to push for the winner, and we were able to turn the game around as Mark Taylor would fire home to complete the comeback. 

Manager William Dyer shared his thoughts on the match: “Really happy with the 3 points today, I felt the boys deserved the win in the end.”

The Lie are back this Saturday as we face St Cadoc’s at Dunterlie, kick-off 2pm.
