Funeral Details – Ger Lafferty

It is with great sadness that we share the funeral arrangements for our club treasurer, Ger Lafferty.

Ger was a hugely important part of Arthurlie, giving so much of his time, energy and love to the club. He was more than just our treasurer — he was a familiar, much-loved face around the club and someone who cared deeply about the people and community that make Arthurlie what it is.

Above all, Ger was a devoted husband, dad and family man. His wife Helen was the centre of his world, and the love and devotion they shared was clear to everyone who knew them. Our thoughts are especially with Helen and all of Ger’s family at this incredibly difficult time. We hope they can take some comfort from knowing just how deeply Ger was loved, respected and valued by everyone at Arthurlie and beyond.

Ger gave so much to our club, but it was his family who meant everything to him. His love for Helen and his family was at the heart of who he was, and we know the whole Arthurlie family will stand beside them and support them in the days and weeks ahead.

Funeral Arrangements

Monday 24th August – 1:00pm
Hurlet Crematorium, Barrhead

Due to the large attendance anticipated, the funeral cortege will make a stop at Dunterlie Park at approximately 12:30pm, giving supporters and friends the opportunity to pay their respects to Ger before the cortege continues to Hurlet.

There will also be a live stream of the funeral for those unable to attend in person. The link will be shared once available.

Following the funeral, everyone is invited back to Shanks Bowling Club, Barrhead, to remember Ger and celebrate his life together.

Ger will be deeply missed by Helen, his family, his friends, his fellow Arthurlie supporters and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
