Match Report
Ten men Lie have to settle for a point away to Kilwinning Rangers
Written by Joshua Granger
Arthurlie were back in West of Scotland Premier League action on Saturday as they travelled to Buffs Park to face Kilwinning Rangers.
The Lie were looking to build on last weekend’s 3-2 win over Renfrew FC. The away side were forced into a change before kick-off as goalkeeper Marc Waters picked up an injury in the warm-up and was replaced by Sam Gibson.

Arthurlie started the game quickly, opening the scoring when Max Gillies fired a shot low into the far corner of the net past the keeper. This opening goal was met with an equaliser from the home side shortly after. The Lie were able to go back in front for a second time in the match as Mark Taylor was able to nick the ball off the Kilwinning keeper and tap it into the net. Taylor was then able to double his tally and score our third goal of the afternoon soon after.

Quickly after the restart, Kilwinning got one back to make it 3-2. This fightback from the home side was soon followed by The Lie being reduced to ten men, after Lee Roulston was sent off with 59 minutes on the clock. The away side were now up against it as they tried to keep their lead intact. However, Kilwinning would find an equaliser, meaning it was a share of the spoils at Buffs Park.

This draw means Arthurlie are unbeaten in their last three league games. The Lie return to league action on the 4th of April, as we will be on our travels again, this time against Drumchapel United.
