The Lie pick up home victory after a five-goal thriller
Written by Joshua Granger
The Lie pick up the three points after a hard fought victory over Renfrew FC at Dunterlie.
Back-to-back wins in the West of Scotland Premier League for Arthurlie as they beat Renfrew FC 3-2 to build on their fantastic win last weekend away to Johnstone Burgh. The Lie opened the scoring as Callum Scott was able to dispatch a free kick into the bottom right hand corner past the Renfrew goalkeeper. The second goal soon followed for Arthurlie as Ewan MacPherson was able to latch on to a long ball and take it past the goalkeeper into an empty net. These two goals were met with quick reply from the visitors as they scored twice to level the scoreline at the break.
The second half saw the Lie push forward to try and regain the lead. Our persistence in trying to find a third goal would eventually pay off as Mark Taylor would get the decisive touch to put ball in the net ultimately scoring the winner for the Lie.
So a five-goal thriller but more importantly three points for Arthurlie in front of a home crowd at Dunterlie . The Lie will now travel to Buffs Park to face Kilwinning Rangers on Saturday were they will be looking to keep up the winning momentum.
