ARTHURLIE got back to winning ways in preseason with a well-deserved victory over East of Scotland side The Swifts at Dunterlie.

The home side had a few opportunities in the opening half hour but struggled to find the target, while the visitors made things competitive without threatening the home goal.

That all changed on 34 minutes, however, when Lee Roulston was released and, after beating the last defender, calmly slotted home with his left foot to make it 1-0 to ‘Lie.

Six minutes later the scores were level again, Dowie powerfully heading home for Swifts from close range after a pinpoint cross from the left.

Arthurlie were back in front on the hour, Dylan Dykes sending in a teasing cross that Roulston touched into the net via the crossbar.

Dylan McGuigan doubled the advantage on 64 minutes, finding space in the box before stroking the ball into the bottom right corner.

With a minute remaining Cowie added a second for The Swifts from the spot after a Lewis Magee handball.
