NEWS: GARRY BLACK SIGNS

ARTHURLIE have signed keeper Garry Black from Maryhill and now have two top goalies to further strengthen the squad.
Garry renews his association with committeeman, Alan Kelly, who was previously his boss at Lochburn Park.
He said: “Before I played for Maryhill I had been out of football for a while but prior to that I was at Annan Athletic.
“I have worked with Alan who was manager of Maryhill when I signed for them and was my gaffer for around two years.
“I am absolutely buzzing to join Arthurlie. I actually trained with the club on a previous occasion just before I went to Maryhill.
“It’s great to be in partnership with such a safe pair of hands as James Scott and we will support each other, that’s what keepers do.”
Initially learning his trade at the Jimmy Johnstone Academy, Garry performed well on trial with Annan and signed for them at just 17-years-old.
Working with experienced professionals helped him tremendously but he made the difficult choice to prioritise his school studies.
Eventually returning to the game he played at amateur level before signing for Alan at Maryhill…and now finds himself working with him again!
